overnight oats

I have been wanting to make myself some overnight oats for days now. I found so many different variations, all very similar, and decided to go with what I had lying around. Turned out delicious!

1/4 cup Instant Oats, dry
1/2 cup Vanilla Almond Milk
1/2 scoop Vanilla Whey Protein Powder
1 tablespoon White Chia Seeds
1/2 Banana, mashed

I mixed those all into a tupperware container and set it in the fridge overnight. In the morning I mixed in:

1/2 tablespoon peanut butter
1/2 cup Frozen Blueberries, microwaved till soft

Yum! Absolutely delicious! I have a feeling I am going to be eating this for breakfast everyday!
I had never used white chia seeds before, I have only ever used black ones, so I don’t know if it is normal for white ones to not gelatinize; because this morning they were still in their tiny white seed form. Perhaps it was because the mixture was slightly thick. Not sure…I am going to experiment…

I had an early morning class today, which consisted of all math – Not my forte! I am actually quite nervous for this course. I am hoping to maintain my (perplexing) A+ streak in school. Let’s see how it all goes. I am sure you will be hearing lots about it.

After class, I drove down to Lululemon because I accidentally dropped my credit card (on friday) whilst in a mad rush to make an appointment at the other end of town. I filled gas at the nearby Petro, and excitedly went over to DavidsTea. To my astonishment they were CLOSED! They’re moving down the street, so they’re closed for the next month or so. Serious disappointment but NOT TO FRET, there is another tea lounge down the street called PEKOE. I have been there before, but  I forgot what I had. I ordered a flavoured black tea to get some caffeine flowing through my blood.

A tad bit disappointed!

I can’t tell you what flavour the black tea was because a) I forgot and b) I can’t taste any flavour in it.
The tea tasted like watered down premium pitiable leaves. Not too impressed.
O well, I am pretty sure I will still go there and try other teas. Maybe it was just an insipid tea, and other will be more palatable.

  1. Yum!!! The overnight oats were a total hit!! I loved the texture and colour and I used black chia seeds instead of white so they became nice and gelatinized 😀 thanks!
